 The McCarthy campaign has announced that the Whitman Fire Fighters union has officially endorsed State Representative Allen McCarthy's candidacy for reelection. The union represents the town's professional fire fighters.
“Since he was first elected, Allen McCarthy has fought for the public safety programs and local aid funding that help keep fire fighters and the towns we protect safe,” said Josef Kenealey, president of Whitman Fire Fighters Local 1769. “I know we can trust him to continue that fight on behalf of Abington, East Bridgewater, and Whitman. We are proud to endorse Allen McCarthy for State Representative.
“I think it is very important for our union to be involved in politics on every level of government,” said Richie MacKinnon, Jr., of Local 1769. “We need to endorse and support those that look out and care about our needs. Allen McCarthy has proven to us and to the community that he has our best interest at heart. We have seen in past elections how important the professional fire fighters endorsement and support has meant and it is not something we just give out, the candidate has to earn it. Whitman Fire Fighters Local 1769 is proud and honored to officially endorse Allen McCarthy for State Representative of the 7th Plymouth District."
“I am both grateful for and honored by the support of Whitman's fire fighters,” said McCarthy. “Fire fighters perform a critical public service by routinely placing themselves in harm's way to protect our families. As state representative, I have fought for measures, like increased local aid and state reimbursements for election expenses, that help our towns continue to provide core services like fire protection. I look forward to continuing that fight in the future."
McCarthy represents Abington, East Bridgewater, and Whitman in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. The election will be held on Tuesday, November 2nd.
